FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Zoysia tenuifolia

  • How much spacing should be used when planting No Mow Grass?

For an instant and complete cover, where cost is less important, slabs can be laid butted up against each other over cultivated soil.

For more economical usage, that should produce a complete cover within 12 months, clumps of the grass should be planted on about 200mm centres.

The simplest way to do this is use 100mm pots, but you could also use punnets cut in half or even slabs sliced 3 cuts along by 4 cuts across to produce 10 small squares.

Please see more detail about this on our "Spacing page"

  • What maintenance is required for No Mow Grass once it is established?

Zoysia tenuifolia can be treated like any turf grass once it is well established. You can use the same fertilizers and broad leaf herbicide, but bear in mind that these products can sometimes cause a degree of damage on the grass itself and should be tested on small areas first.

No Mow Grass can also be mowed if you so wish, but one of its main attractions is the attractive mounding habit it produces when left un-mowed
